Some of the subway system's older trains will remain in service longer than expected.
The MTA says R-32 model trains won't be retired until 2022.
Officials say it's because of delays in the delivery of R-179 replacement cars and increased fleet requirements.
The R-32 model runs on the A/C and J/Z lines. Only a few hundred cars are still in service.
The fleet debuted in the mid-1960s and was originally scheduled for retirement in 2017 and 2018.
